Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED: All users of LLC ethernet connectivity on i686
    Red Hat systems.
    
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When starting an LLC ethernet port, the operating system becomes
    unresponsive. A reboot is required to recover.
    
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    A previous fix (LI74394) introduced this problem on i686 Red Hat
    systems only. The callback from the kernel when interfaces are
    modified is not handled correctly.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been corrected to handle the callback correctly.
