Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED: All

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Crash in appn.sys

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The root cause is triggered by certain start up sequences which
are all lead to CS/Win sending an ACTLU RSP with a TCP/IP
control vector (type 0x64). In some case the code (inside
appn.sys) corrupts the SNAPS messages which can actually corrupt
any part of the SNAPS dynamic memory (buffers and control
blocks). The crash occurs at a later point in time (probably
within a few seconds) when the corrupted memory is accessed.

Problem conclusion

  • The source of the corruption has been identified and corrected.

Temporary fix

  • appn.sys
