      PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
      NEW FUNCTION:
Add option to automatically append the client's IP address
to the Local TP Name when an application starts (issues
TP_STARTED or CMINIT) for outbound conversations.

      PROBLEM SUMMARY:
New function described above has been added.

Problem conclusion

  • To enable this new function, on the Remote API Client system
create an empty file named tpnameipv4. For example:
    "echo > tpnameipv4"
     - in the installation directory for a Windows client:
default C:\ibmcs\w64cli but may be overriden by a custom
        install.
     - in the configuration directory for a Unix client:
        - /etc/sna on AIX
        - /etc/opt/ibm/sna on Linux

The APPC library checks for the presence of the tpnameipv4 file
and if present extracts the local IPV4 address when the first
TP_STARTED is received for the application. The address is then
appended to the local TP name on all TP_STARTED requests
(assuming that the 15 characters of the IP address will fit in
    the 64 byte TP name).

The local TP name can then be queried on the server to
correlate it to the local LU that is used:
      - it is present in the log 8193-8 when the TP is started
      - it is reported on query_tp while the TP is running
      - it is reported on query_conversation while the conversation
        is running.
