APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After some time dynamically loaded APPC programs fail to start,
    the error log reports a security failure (passwords do not
    match).
    

Local fix

  • Stop and restart CommServer.
    

Problem summary

  • There is a memory leak introduced when adding the enhancement
    IZ78246, when a password fails to match the snatpsrvd process
    fails to release memory used for an internal error string. Over
    time this memory leak prevents the snatpsrvd from processing
    more incoming APPC conversations.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to prevent memory leak.
