Question & Answer
Question
During the creation of a DAS on DB2 ESE v8.2 for AIX, the following error is returned: DBI1103E The Administration Server already exists.
Cause
The global registry is corrupt. The registry still contains a DAS record, even though the dasdrop utility indicated that the DAS was successfully dropped. However the daslist shows the DAS still exists.
Answer
Use the /usr/opt/db2_08_02/bin/db2greg -dump to dump the registry's content to the screen to confirm if the DAS record exists. The same utility can be used to remove the record:
db2greg -delinstrec instancename=<dasinstname>
The global registry exists in /var/db/global.reg file for AIX. For other UNIX platforms use the db2greg -g command to verify where the location of the registry.
After removing the incorrect record from the global registry, create the DAS.
NOTE : Error message CRIMA1075E may also be received if WebSphere is installed
