Error description

  • Customer who is on PCOMM 6.0 wants to use the smart card to
    read his personal certificate and open a secure session with
    GSKIT. Customer stated that he types the dll into the module
    name box  but PCOMM does not show him the token and thus
    Customer cannot type into the boxes the password and the label
    of the certificate.
    .
    He is using the smart card of Athena Company and its DLL is
    asepkcs.dll.
    

Local fix

  • Secure connection without SmartCard works fine
    

Problem summary

    Smart card users with IBM Personal Communications v6.0 and IBM
    Gskit for secure connection are not able to enter the smart card
    driver name in the provided text box, thereby unable to choose
    the certificate from the smart card.
    

Problem conclusion

  • PCSWDLGC.DLL has been changed so the user can enter the smart
    card driver dll or choose from the list provided in help.
    Thereby
    certificate token and certificate from the smart card can be
    selected.
    
    Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.16 Refresh Pack
