APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • We are currently testing PCOMM 6.0.12, we have identified that
the FTP Client utility does not resolve IP addresses and fails
to connect to the target IP on port 21.

The FTP utility fails with error 'unable to resolve xx.xx.x.xx'.
The IP address resolves OK to a tn3270 display session via port
23. But if I use the ftp utility it fails.

Local fix

  • Use HOSTS file to provide IP name resolution

Problem conclusion

  • Appropriate code changes were made to connect to the host using
IP address directly.
Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.14 Refresh Pack.
