    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * In a IBM Personal Communications emulator session configured *
    * with Vietnamese host code page 1130 or 1164, Vietnamese *
    * characters may not be displayed properly. This may happen *
    * while keying in new characters, editing or deleting existing *
    * characters. Even moving the cursor using arrow keys or by *
    * click of a mouse may render incorrect characters on the *
    * emulator screen. The emulator session may also crash *
    * sometimes.                                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In a IBM Personal Communications emulator session configured
    with Vietnamese host code page 1130 or 1164, Vietnamese
    characters with diacritics (accent marks) may be rendered
    incorrectly. For example, 'e' + '`' changes to 'aÞ ', whereas it
    should have been 'eÞ '.

    In some circumstances, some characters are retained from
    previous screens. In other words, the emulator screen fails to
    update completely. Also, using arrow keys or clicking mouse
    buttons to move the cursor position may cause the emulator
    session to hang or crash.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSWS.EXE and PCSCLIB.DLL have been changed to rectify the
    problems with Vietnamese characters.

    Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.15 Refresh Pack
