After input Vietnamese chars on PCOMM screen and press ENTER,
some chars becomes space.

* Some Vietnamese characters are not displayed on IBM Personal *
* Communications emulator screen on Windows 7 operating        *
* system.                                                      *

Some of the Vietnamese characters are not displayed on IBM
Personal Communications emulator screen. For example: (O+5) and
   (I+8). This occurs only in Windows 7. Vietnamese characters,
are converted to Unicode equivalents before displayed on the
emulator. Some of the Vietnamese characters do not have a valid
code point in the Unicode, hence these characters are not
displayed on the emulator. However, under Windows XP all the
characters are correctly displayed, since conversion does not
take place in Windows XP.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • PCSWS.EXE has been changed to avoid conversion to Unicode before
displaying on the emulator. This is done by passing
ETO_IGNORELANGUAGE flag to ExtTextOut API.
