Error description

  • On a HATS v8.5.3 (5250 connection) problem exists with SBCS
eliminating the maximum length function. In an application that
has an SBCS file the field length of which is 1 byte when the
screen is shown by HATS, the SBCS field has data. The cursor is
put on the field and the cursor is moved by the arrow key of a
    keyboard. Then:

    Case 1
If Enable automatic field advance is true and
eliminatemaximumlength is true, the cursor moves to the next
    field automatically.

    Case 2

If Enable automatic field advance is true and
eliminatemaximumlength is false, the cursor does not move to the
next field. This setting is supported only for Internet Explorer
V6 and V7. When this setting and the Enable automatic field
advance setting are both selected, if a user inputs characters
using the keyboard, instead of using the IME, the automatic
field advance feature does not work for the supported field
    types listed above.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • In HATS RCP application, for input fields
In DBCS web application having SBCS field with both
enableAutoAdvance and eliminatemaximumlength set to true. In
IE, if cursor is moved using arrow keys of keyboard in the SBCS
field, then cursor should not move to next field.
