APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A Tivoli Storage Manager 6.X server installer fails while
upgrading DB2.  For the failure, upgrading the DB2 component
itself ends successfully but the installation for successive
components is not continued.  This is the APAR which is
corresponding to the APAR IC78258 which is for Windows 32bit
platforms.

L2/Customer Diagnostics:
When extracting logs.zip file, the log
"logs\coi\plan\install\MachinePlan_localhost\00002_DB2_2_1\logs\
[INSTALL_MMDD_HH.MM]\DB2_2_1.log"
shows the following messages.

Local fix

  • Restart the installer and select to install the other components
that were not installed.
