Abstract
Learn how models, reports and other objects imported from MicroStrategy are displayed in the metadata repository of InfoSphere Information Server.
Content
To import metadata from MicroStrategy, you use the MicroStrategy bridge in InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager.
The table explains the metadata mappings for the bridge, including the following information:
- Name of the object type in MicroStrategy, or the type of information that is mapped. When the first column of the table refers to information rather than to an object type, the information is enclosed in brackets.
- Display name of the object in InfoSphere Information Server.
- Internal name of the object in InfoSphere Information Server. The internal name is sometimes required for command-line tasks.
- Which interfaces in InfoSphere Information Server display the object. The following abbreviations are used in the Where displayed column to indicate the interface:
MW
- InfoSphere Metadata Workbench
- The staging area of InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager
- The Repository Management tab of InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager
- InfoSphere Business Glossary
For information on using the MicroStrategy bridge with InfoSphere Information Server, V11.3, see the MicroStrategy bridge reference.
Table 1. Objects imported into the metadata repository by the MicroStrategy bridge
MicroStrategy object [or other information] | Display name in InfoSphere Information Server | Internal name in InfoSphere Information Server | Where displayed in InfoSphere Information Server | Mapping notes |
Project source | BI server | BIServer | SA, RM, MW
Folder | BI folder | BIFolder | SA, RM, MW
Project | BI model | OLAPModel | SA, RM, MW, BG | The model is the root namespace. |
LogicalTable | BI collection | OLAPCollection | SA, RM, MW, BG | The Collection type property is set to FACT if the LogicalTable contains facts. Otherwise collection type is set to REGULAR |
AttributeForm Fact FactInfo Metric | BI collection member | OLAPMember | SA, RM, MW, BG | The Member type property is set to MEASURE if the instance is a measure, otherwise it is set to REGULAR. FactInfo, fact and metric are imported as BI collection members of the member type MEASURE. |
LogicalTable lookup | BI join BI join reference | OLAPJoin OLAPJoinRef | SA. Displayed as children of BI collections. | Two BI join references are created for each BI join. |
Filter CustomGroup Security filter | BI filter | OLAPFilter | SA, MW: Displayed as child of BI model.
Hierarchy | BI hierarchy | OLAPHierarchy | SA, MW
Hierarchy level | BI hierarchy member | OLAPHierarchyMember | SA, MW | A BI hierarchy member connects a hierarchy to its levels. |
AttributeRelationship | BI hierarchy association | OLAPHierarchyAssociation | SA | Specifies the parent-child relationships between levels. |
Report Document | BI report | ReportDef | SA, RM, MW, BG
Attribute | BI level | OLAPLevel | BI level: SA, as child of BI model; MW as child of BI hierarchy.
Attribute implementation | BI level element | OLAPLevelElement | SA | BI level elements are created from the relationships between the hierarchy elements and objects. |
Attribute Metric Limit Consolidation Subtotal | BI report query BI report query item | ReportDataSet ReportDataItem | SA, RM, MW, BG
Report template element | BI report field BI report drill-through NOTE: At V11.3, BI report field is not displayed, and BI report drill-through is displayed as a property of BI report. | ReportField ReportDrillThrough | BI report field: SA, RM, MW, BG BI report drill-through: SA: displayed as child of BI report field; MW: information displayed in "References BI Report" property of BI report field. | BI report field represents the display headings in the report. BI report drill-through objects are created for the report fields that reference other reports. |
Report Document body Document footer Document header Chart report Grid report Text field Report axis | BI Report section NOTE: This asset is not displayed at V11.3 | ReportGroup | SA, RM: Displayed as child of BI Report MW, BG: Displayed as property of BI report field | The type of BI report section (for example, Report header) is indicated by the Group type property of the asset. |
