APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During Client BA backups with enabled deduplication,
  following error  may be observed:
  ANS7906W Current storage pool ran out of space,
  data will be stored into the next pool - deduplication is
  disabled
  
  Storage pool has available space despite the error.
  
  When client-side deduplication is enabled,
  the client uses clientdeduptxnlimit instead of txnbytelimit
  to determine the size of the transaction.
  This behavior is not correct because the minimum value
  of clientdeduptxnlimit is 32GB.
  This means when client-side deduplication is on,
  minimum size of a transaction would be 32GB
  assuming there is enough data to back up.
  
  After the fix,
  the client will use the minimum of
  txnbytelimit and clientdeduptxnlimit as a transaction maxsize
  when client-side deduplication is used

Problem conclusion

• The TSM client has been changed to use the minimum of
  txnbytelimit and clientdeduptxnlimit as a transaction maxsize
  when client-side deduplication is used.
