Troubleshooting
Problem
During a failed Tivoli Storage Manager Server database restore where the database directory path does not exist the Server message ANR2990E will report the expected path missing by truncating the path by one character.
Symptom
The Tivoli Storage Manager Server message ANR2990E will report the following message:
ANR2990E Database restore is terminated due to an invalid database path /tsm/databas and DB2 sqlcode -1051
In this example the path name where DB2 expects to restore the database is reported by message ANR2990E as /tsm/databas, but the correct path is /tsm/database.
Cause
This is Tivoli Storage Manager internal defect 90688, where the message ANR2990E is displaying the database path incorrectly to the console.
Environment
The defect affects all supported Server platforms where the Server versions are below 6.3.4, and 7.1.0.
Diagnosing The Problem
Message ANR2990E will display the restore database path in the activity log as follows:
ANR2990E Database restore is terminated due to an invalid database path /tsm/databas and DB2 sqlcode -1051
Find the following message in the db2diag.log with approximately the same time stamp as the message in the activity log:
2014-09-08-19.37.48.655540 I45034260E1449 LEVEL: Error (OS)

/tsm/database
Verify that the database path reported in ANR2990E, has truncated the path name reported in the db2diag.log by one character.
Resolving The Problem
Upgrade the Tivoli Storage Manager Server to version 6.3.4, or 7.1.0, or any fix pack above these two versions.
Note: The DB2 restore is functioning correctly and reporting a valid error.
