Number of replicated files incorrect in QUERY REPLNODE command

Question & Answer

Question

When running the QUERY REPLNODE command on a Tivoli Storage Manager Server 7,1 or higher, the number of replicated objects seems not accurate.

Answer

The Tivoli Storage Manager Server version 7.1 introduced the new SPLITLARGEOBJECTS option. This option causes the Tivoli Storage Manager Server to split files larger 10GB into smaller objects.

The QUERY REPLNODE command counts all objects and treats them as single file.

To check the correct number of objects replicated, you can run the following SQL command on the dsmadmc command line:

select node_name, count(*) as num_files from backups group by node_name
