Multiple international infrastructure centers for SAP solutions operate a worldwide team of expert IBM architects and specialists to help solve SAP infrastructure challenges and enable you to meet the changing demands of your business. We work directly with clients and SAP to design, assess, enable and analyze advanced, cross-IBM technologies based on their requirements.

Walldorf, Germany

The IBM SAP International Competence Center (ISICC) located at the SAP Partner Port in Walldorf, has a long history of infrastructure enablement, benchmarks and performance tests of SAP applications running on IBM platforms for zEnterprise, POWER, and x86. These tests are integrated with the latest IBM Storage solutions and middleware products such as DB2 (for Information Management) Lotus, Rational, WebSphere and Tivoli. IBM Brand specialists with deep SAP skills are located at this center and are well connected with SAP specialists as IBM aims to deliver leading infrastructure solutions to our joint customers, while proving the capabilities of an end-to-end solution with the scalability and reliability required by our clients. Our leading infrastructure center covers a very wide list of topics including SAP high growth areas such as SAP HANA. The ISICC is often used for customer specific briefings (see the ISICC tab).

Böblingen, Germany

The IBM Germany Research & Development Center based in Böblingen, south of Stuttgart, is one of the largest IBM R&D centers outside the US. Since its foundation in 1953, the center has run IT development and research projects for the global market. Today around 2,000 computer scientists, electrical engineers and physicists from more than 30 countries work on site while collaborating with other IBM R&D centers on five continents plus locations in Mainz, Walldorf, and Kassel. More than 60 hardware and software projects are underway ranging from systems development (System z and System p hardware, firmware, software) to software development including all major IBM Software Group brands except Rational. These development projects support the IBM strategy and priorities such as Cloud Computing, Green IT and Web 2.0 technologies as well as IBM middleware software for Information Systems and Business Process Management. Technology project teams cover hardware and operating system development for mainframes as well as supercomputing concepts and components.

The Böblingen Lab hosts a large team of experts for the open Linux operating system as well as for SAP technologies on IBM hardware and software platforms.

At Böblingen you can gain insight into the newest IBM hardware and software solutions and learn how IBM technology trends and strategies can help optimize your IT investments. Technical workshops as well as customer briefings for SAP on System zEnterprise are among the frequent events.

Mainz, Germany

This is the home of the European Storage Competence Center and the Advanced Technical Skills team with deep SAP skills. This team provides solution enablement for new Storage and Network solutions with SAP, second-level pre-sales support, technical skill transfer and new product introductions. The Mainz center has contributed to many infrastructure benchmarks and proof-of-concepts with SAP applications (i.e. Road charging, convergent charging, etc).

Montpellier, France

This center provides comprehensive customer briefings, architecture design, benchmark testing, and training facilities to demonstrate the advantages of IBM systems, software and solutions. This is the largest European support center for IBM servers with a team of 250 highly skilled IT professionals ready to discuss SAP scalability projects, proof-of-concepts, and more. Many large benchmarks and proof-of-concepts for SAP on IBM infrastructure have been executed at the Montpellier location for individual customers and industry or cross-industry projects (see for instance the latest Energy & Utility scalability project published at www.ibm-sap.com/energy).

Poughkeepsie, New York

The Poughkeepsie Briefing Center has expertise to address over 300 topics, tailored to meet your unique desires and goals in the form of on-site briefings, product demonstrations, strategy sessions, and solution workshops. The Pougkeepsie team successfully ran the largest SAP Business Warehouse Accelerator and SAP BW on IBM infrastructure performance test (x86 Blades, Power, System z and DB2) in close teaming with SAP in 2007, as audited and documented by independent analyst WinterCorp (for more info see http://www.ibm-sap.com/bwa). This center is also home to an IBM Systems and Technology Group (STG) Banking Center of Excellence which combines IBM skills with leading Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partner technology to help financial institutions define and construct an end-point solution and IT architecture that is efficient, secure, flexible and better able to respond to changing business conditions.

Tokyo, Japan

The IBM Systems Center of Competency (ISCoC) is located in the IBM Hakozaki office, Tokyo. Capabilities of this briefing center include executive briefings, verification testing, benchmarking, software porting, and demonstrations. Hot topics featured here are SAP ERP solutions and SAP Business One with IBM Systems platforms.
