That's why IBM Cloud Academy offers guidance and sharing through collaborative themes and enables communication with the IBM cloud technology.

The IBM Cloud Academy uses the IBM IEG (Institute for Electronic Government) Collaboratory based on IBM Social Business™. Using this Collaboratory, members of the IBM Cloud Academy are able to interact and work on projects with each other and with members of the academy's IBM Technical Advisory Board. The IBM Technical Advisory Board for this collaborative work is comprised of members from across IBM brands, research and development organizations, as well as IT architects, who specialize in emerging cloud technologies and solutions. Together, the members of the IBM Cloud Academy community and its Technical Advisory Board work on themes that advance cloud community implementations and initiatives in education.

The initial three themes for collaboration within the IBM Cloud Academy are:

• Enhancing research using cloud computing.
  • Including Analytics and Business Intelligence.
• Delivering educational resources using cloud computing.
• Building an institution's future infrastructure.
  • Including Assessment and Roadmap for adoption and integration into current infrastructure.

Collaboration on the IBM Cloud: Tools that make collaboration easier

The IBM Cloud Academy uses Social Business, which is an IBM offering available on the IBM Cloud, as the technological underpinnings for its Collaboratory. This is an IBM Cloud Computing solution. Integrated social networking and online collaboration services from Social Business make sharing ideas easier. Powered by cloud architecture and hosted by IBM, the Social Business suite of tools offers comprehensive web-based collaboration and social networking capabilities. It presents software that extends cloud computing beyond institutional boundaries and outside of firewalls. Members of the IBM Cloud Academy are able to work together closely, no matter where in the world they may happen to be traveling. And with a full selection of integrated services, Social Business has a range of offerings that bring educators together.
