	<itunes:subtitle>September 8, 2008 - IBM Maximo RFID Solution</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>IBMs new Maximo RFID solution combines asset tracking using radio frequency identification RFID with Maximo to 1 recognize RFID tagged assets in a selected location and determine whether they are in the correct place and 2 provide location updates in Maximo for tagged assets as they move from one location to another. Asset recognition uses a RFID handheld and a Maximo Mobile application. Asset location update uses IBM's RFID middleware communicating with Maximo. With accurate asset location in Maximo clients spend less time searching for assets that are not where they should be and do not need to have additional assets on hand to act as safety stock to replace assets that can not be found.</itunes:summary>

	<itunes:subtitle>August 11, 2008 - Optimizing Inventory Investments in a Challenging Asset Management Environment</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Optimizing investment in inventory while maximizing service levels is a complex challenge that most companies fail to solve effectively, leading to inefficient use of working capital and the write off of obsolete parts. Especially today with high levels of variability in demand and supply, and the disparity in asset value versus part value, most companies maintain safety stocks much greater than actually required to achieve their targeted asset up time. In June of this year, IBM announced the integration of the IBM Dynamic Inventory Optimization solution with the IBM Maximo solution. This means the power of analytics in optimizing inventory can now leverage the Materials and Procurement Management modules of Maximo to both improve capital efficiency and service levels. </itunes:summary>

Register today: Maximo Monday registration

We will review the main features of the Adapter and use some of them in a short demo scenario. The Adapter is a component data integration to Microsoft Project. It allows you to see Maximo work orders in project management format, schedule them, edit their data values, and update Maximo with the results. It also allows you to forecast future Preventive Maintenance work orders to see where they should occur based on their frequency. Along with the work orders, work plan tools and labor are brought over as resource assignments so that resource leveling can be used to generate realistic schedules by craft and tool availability.
