Johannesburg, South Africa. 11 July 2012. IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced today that Abraham Thomas has been named Country General Manager, IBM South Africa.
He succeeds Oliver Fortuin, who is leaving IBM to establish his own business.
Abraham’s 25 year career with IBM has spanned a variety of senior executive roles, including Managing Director of IBM India and IBM Global Services India, Vice-President of General Business in ASEAN/South Asia, and Director of Financial Services Sector for IBM ASEAN/South Asia.
Most recently, he has been Vice-President of Systems and Technology Group, for IBM's Growth Markets Unit, based in Shanghai.
Abraham holds a Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore.
