Build or Buy? – Peter Eeles

Peter Eeles works for IBM Rational Software, part of the IBM Software Group, and has spent much of his career architecting and implementing large-scale, distributed systems. He is based in the UK, where he assists organizations in their adoption of the Rational Unified Process and the IBM Software Development Platform. He is coauthor of "Building J2EE Applications with the Rational Unified Process" (Addison-Wesley, 2002), coauthor of "Building Business Objects" (John Wiley & Sons, 1998) and a contributing author to "Software Architectures" (Springer-Verlag, 1999).


Security First - Bob Kalka

Bob Kalka is a Security Business Unit Eecutive at IBM’s Tivoli software division, headquartered in Austin, Texas. Bob is responsible for Tivoli’s portfolio for identity and access management (IAM) and security information and event management (SIEM), as well as integration with IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) products and services.

IT a profit-centre or cost-centre? - Annette Miller

Annette Miller is the Program Director for Virtualization Strategy on the world wide Virtualization team within IBM Systems and Technology Group. Since January 2003, she has been working with several cross-systems initiatives, currently focusing on Virtualization. Prior to coming to the STG organization, Annette was the technical sales lead for zSeries e-business in the Central Region of the United States. She is involved worldwide IBM customer councils, and has presented IBM Systems, on demand and virtualization topics at many briefings and conferences both in the United States and in Europe. Annette holds a degree in Computer Information Management from the College of St. Mary, and worked for 15 years as a mainframe systems programmer before coming to IBM.


Emerging technology as a business enabler - Giovanni D'Amico

Giovanni D’Amico is a member of IBM’s global IBM Sensor & Actuator Group since the year 2000. He’s current business responsibility as Business Area Leader covers the market place Central East Europe and the Middle East Region (CEMAAS) for Sensor enterprise solutions like RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and pervasive Asset Monitoring solutions. He has extensive knowledge of the Wireless, mobility and pervasive IT industry and how IBM’s services, solutions and technologies in this key markets can deliver significant value to its customers.
