The Cincinnati Public Schools/IBM Reinventing Education partnership supports the district's efforts to reform high schools and focus on students' mastery of standards rather than seat time and Carnegie Units. The Credit Granting Standards Tracking Tool provides an easy to search, detailed standards database that interfaces with the district's student information system, enabling teachers to track individual students' progress, highlighting areas where students are progressing well, as well as those areas where students may require additional assistance. This year, the district is rolling out use of the Credit Granting Standards Tracking Tool to teachers throughout the district high schools. The partnership also has focused assistance on Cincinnati's initiative for year-round schooling and flexible scheduling.
