| Congressman Tim Walz recently made a visit to IBM Rochester to learn more about IBM in Minnesota and our community partnerships. Walt Ling, Rochester's senior location executive and Minnesota senior state executive; Drew Flaada, director, IBM-Mayo Collaboration; Mark Morizio, director, Integrated Supply Chain; Curt Mathiowetz, Blue Gene program manager; and Valerie Pace, manager, IBM Government Relations, met with the congressman to discuss trade, patent reform, research and development tax credits, and the site's Blue Gene work with several of the federal government's national labs. The IBM team and Congressman Walz also discussed the importance of higher education in the area and the site's on-going relationship with the University of Minnesota, as well as topics centered on K-12 education. The Congressman also enjoyed a tour of the site that included Blue Gene and ISC manufacturing.
