IBM's 2002 Environment & Well-Being Progress Report has been published. One of the family
of corporate reports IBM produces about its ongoing commitment to global corporate citizenship,
the report describes the company's policies, programs, and performance in the areas of workplace
safety and employee well-being, environmental protection, energy and water conservation, and design
for the environment.
In addition, as a global company and a leader in information technology, IBM believes it has a unique
opportunity and responsibility to help enhance the economic, environmental, and social quality of the
world. The introductory section of the report highlights some of the ways in which IBM, its resources and
its technology are helping the world develop in a more sustainable manner.
