PETER J. KORSTEN, IBM
IBM Global CEO Study: The Enterprise of The Future

Peter J. Korsten (Vice President and Partner) is the global leader of the IBM Institute for Business Value (the business think tank of IBM).
Before his current position he was IBM’s and before that PwC Consulting’s Leader of its Corporate Strategy, Organization Design and Change Management practice in Europe, Middle East and Africa (in which some 1200 consultants, 100 partners and 200 support staff were active) and was a member of PwC Consulting’s Global Strategy Leadership Team and of the leadership team of PwC Consulting in EMEA.
Mr. Korsten joined PwC Consulting in 1998 and has concentrated his work on consumer goods and industrial companies throughout Europe. He is a recognized expert in contemporary strategy and consulted for a wide array of Fortune Global 500 organizations. In addition, he worked on important strategy issues for governmental and leading public organizations. Mr. Korsten has spoken on strategic subjects on numerous occasions around the world.
Before joining PwC Consulting/IBM Global Business Services, he worked for over eight years with The Boston Consulting Group and its predecessor firm in the Netherlands, as well as for a Fortune 500 fast moving consumer goods company during three years and with the largest continental European venture capital organization for two years.
He holds a Deans List (Honors) MBA from IMD (Lausanne, Switzerland) and has received further post graduate education at the Harvard Business School, Insead, IMD, Ashridge and at Templeton College in Oxford.
In 2008 he was selected as one of the worlds top 25 consultants by Consulting Magazine in 2008 and was named a ‘Dutch Star’ by the Dutch edition of Business Week (FEM Business). He won the InCompany award for the best Management & Organisation consulting organization in The Netherlands in 2006 and was given IBM’s most prestigious award in 2007: The IBM Global Golden Circle. He was quoted in numerous articles in Global and European Media (a.o. CNN, MSNBC, Fortune, Business Week, Forbes, IHT) and has presented at a broad range of conferences (a.o. Economist Conferences, WEF).

Connie serves Information & Knowledge Management professionals, leading a team that provides advice and research focused on todays most pressing IT and Business topics. Connie's recent research has focused on dynamic business applications that are designed for people, built for change and support the intersection of Information Workplace, Web 2.0 and the changing workforce.
She has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. Prior to becoming an analyst, Connie was a manager with Andersen Consulting. Connie holds an M.B.A. in information systems from George Washington University.
Rolf Olmesdahl, UBS

Rolf Olmesdahl is the head of the UBS Global Wealth Management and Business Banking IT business area with global responsibility for IT. Starting his career with UBS as a banking apprentice and IT trainee some 30 years ago, Rolf has worked in virtually all areas of UBS IT throughout the years and has previously led various departments. He has extensive experience of managing large, internationally distributed departments and projects across Europe, Asia and the US. He has an Executive MBA from IMD in Lausanne and is a member of the UBS Group Managing Board.

Sandy Carter, IBM
Connecting IT and Business

Sandy Carter is Vice President, SOA & WebSphere Strategy, Channels and Marketing for IBM, and author of The New Language of Business: SOA & Web 2.0. Ms. Carter is responsible for driving IBM's cross-company, worldwide SOA marketing initiatives. In this role, she helps oversee the company's SOA strategy across software, services, and hardware and sets the company's SOA marketing direction. Ms. Carter has played a critical role in helping to identify SOA acquisition targets and ensure the successful integration of these organizations into the IBM SOA portfolio. Additionally, she directs SOA messaging and content, leading a global team in driving customer demand for IBM and IBM business partner SOA solutions.
In 2007, the IBM SOA marketing organization earned several industry awards. Most notable were four MarCom Awards for Excellence in Marketing Communications presented by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals. The team also received the Award of Merit from the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR) and was awarded the 2007 Platinum Ava Award for web-based multimedia production.

Susan E. Watson, IBM

Susan Watson is the Vice President, Radical Simplification and Innovation, Enterprise on Demand Transformation. Susan has ten years of executive experience in various parts of IBM’s Business.

She was named to her present position in July 2007 where she is responsible for IBM’s business process and application architecture and ensuring IBM's internal IT operation is a reference point for our clients: a showcase for optimization of the IT environment and innovative exploitation of our best technologies.

Dr. Colin Harrison, IBM
Greening the Enterprise

Dr. Harrison is a director in IBM's Corporate Strategy team, working mainly on Energy & Environment topics. He was previously Director of Strategic Innovation in IBM's Integrated Technology Delivery in Europe and Director of Global Services Research in IBM's Research Division, where he held many leadership positions and in 2001 established IBM's Institute for Advanced Learning. Following his university studies in England and Germany, he spent several years at CERN in Geneva developing the SPS accelerator. He then returned to EMI Central Research Laboratories in London, and lead the development of the world's first clinically useful MRI system. He joined IBM in San Jose and has enjoyed a career leading from micromagnetics to medical imaging, parallel computing, mobile networking, intelligent agents, telecommunications services, and knowledge management. During 1997 - 2001 he was the worldwide leader in developing the application of research skills to IBM's services businesses. In October 2004 he was elected to the IBM Academy of Technology. In November 2004 he was made an IBM Master Inventor.
In the course of his career Dr Harrison has lead many technical innovations, including the first use of a distributed real-time control system at CERN, the practical application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in medicine (1978), mobile computing (1990), wireless data services (1992), network services (1994), and so forth. Among his many failed innovations are magnetic bubble memories (1980), creating a medical imaging business for IBM (1984), inventing the Worldwide Web two years too late (1992), and creating a Voice over IP business (1997).

Likhit is a Partner and the Banking Industry Leader in North East Europe for IBM’s Global Business Services. Prior to taking up that role, Likhit was IBM’s leader in Europe for Value Creation and previously led the Strategy and Change practice.
Likhit has also led the M&A practice at PwC and has extensive corporate finance experience.
With over 15 years of experience in the field of strategic consulting, including Value Based Management and Mergers and Acquisitions, Likhit’s extensive experience of leading complex engagements has addressed the development and implementation of value creation strategies, new business models, performance management, organisational change, and decision support systems.
Likhit’s blue chip client base includes a wide range of global organisations, such as Allianz, ABB, Astra Zeneca, Daimler Chrysler, DWP, Kingfisher, Roche, SAP, Shell, Sony, TNT Post Groep, KBC and Zurich Financial Services.
Likhit is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He graduated with BA (Hons) in Economics and Business Finance.

Dino Trevisani is vice president of IBM’s Financial Services Sector, Americas. He is responsible for the sales and solutions teams for the financial services industry, including retail banking, capital markets and insurance, across North and South America.
Previously, Dino served as Vice President, Financial Services Sector, Canada. Responsible for building on IBM’s success as Canada’s leading provider of innovative technology solutions for Canadian banks and insurance companies, he led a team of financial services experts dedicated to delivering world-class services and applications to help financial services organizations grow and compete on a global scale.
With a career spanning almost 20 years in financial services and management, Dino joined IBM Canada in August 1997, where his results-driven approach produced first-of-a-kind industry solutions initially in Canada and then in the United States, where he served as Vice President, Financial Services Sector, West Region, and then as Vice President, Financial Services Sector, East Region. Dino had responsibility for business relationships with major banks and insurance companies in the United States, where his teams deployed the latest in scaleable technologies to help clients meet their business objectives.
Dino holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University in Canada and is currently completing a Master of Business Adminstration program to earn MBAs from both Cornell University in New York and Queen’s School of Business in Canada. He is married with three children and is an avid golfer who enjoys playing a variety of sports in his spare time.

Clayton Powell is a Global Banking Industry Sales Leader for IBM’s Software Group Industry Solutions Sales organization. He has worldwide responsibility for banking industry solutions sales for IBM software using IBM’s SOA architecture and industry frameworks. Prior to his present role, Clayton was IBM’s leader in the Americas for Banking and Insurance Software Solutions sales. Clayton has more than 20 years experience in IT sales, marketing, and management with IBM focusing on strategic and innovative customer solutions. He has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In has spare time Clayton enjoys golf, cycling, and travel.

Chris is currently the Vice President and Global Industry Leader of IBM’s Social Services and Social Security business worldwide and Global Leader of IBM's Government Shared Services Practice.
Chris has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years and has wide experience of consulting, sales and marketing. Most of Chris’s career has been spent working with Public Sector clients. He has a comprehensive understanding of the business and technical issues which government organisations face and is regularly invited to speak at customer conferences. In particular Chris has specialised in working with government organisations charged with the creation and delivery of social policy. Chris also specialises in Shared Services in Government.

Ian Lyttle is the IBM Knowledge & Collaboration Leader for UK and NE Europe. He advises clients on the application of technology and the introduction of new ways of working. He has been involved with the development of IBM’s internal Knowledge Management programme since 1993 and has addressed numerous international Knowledge Management conferences. He has published in the Journal of Operational Research and contributed to the book ‘Knowledge Management in the Construction Industry’ issued by Blackwell Publishing in 2004.
