[Debian|http://www.debian.org/] is a free and open source system firstly released on August 1993. It supports several different architectures, including PowerPC 32-bit. A 64-bit-only PowerPC port is unofficially maintained and provides 98% of the source packages from the Debian 'stable' distribution compiled.
