 SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 is the current SLES version, released on March 24, 2009. Based on kernel version 2.6.27, SLES11 includes a new software package management system 100 times faster than its predecessor, support to the open source virtualization hypervisor Xen and several new and improved RAS features, such as Swap over NFS and control groups for more fine-grained management of resources (CPU, memory, storage and networking).
  
 For this new release, Novell also provides a SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, focused on clustering technologies, which brings, among other benefits, support to the new version of the OCFS2 cluster filesystem, DRDB network disk management tool and OpenAIS for clustering messaging and membership.

 SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 was originally released in July 2006. The lastest Service Pack available now is SLES10 SP2, released in May 2008.
  SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 was originally released in July 2006. The lastest update now available is SLES10 Service Pack 3, released in October 2009. Besides several network and storage device drivers fixes and updates, SLES10 SP3 also includes Infiniband support in version 1.4.1, new version of Tomcat and Block IO Tracer (blktrace) support. This new update also brings as Technology Previews the Huge Page Memory support via HMC and read-only Root Filesystem support.
