| | *A bug in shmem_truncate_range can cause 100% CPU utilization.* |
| | This SLES10 GA problem can impact DB2 9 instances on all architectures. The shmem_truncate_range issue can cause a db2sysc process to appear as if it is hung and/or consume 100% of a CPU. It can also result in a kernel panic. On Intel Itanium hardware, symptom may include an unexpected system reboot. A fix will be available in SLES10 Service Pack 1. Until SLES10 SP1 becomes available, this problem can be prevented by setting a DB2 registry variable DB2MEMDISCLAIM=NO before starting the instance. |
| | |
 | | *DB2 9 DPF incompatibility with SLES 10 Randomized Virtual Address Space Mapping.* |
| | DB2 9 DPF instances with multiple logical partitions running on a single SLES10 server can trap within 30 minutes after _db2start_. This incompatibility with the new feature was discovered during early SLES10 testing. The permanent fix will be available in DB2 9 FP2. This memory mapping feature should be temporary disabled until that time. Please refer to [technote ref # 1251352|http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=71&context=SSEPGG&dc=DB520&uid=swg21251352&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en&rss=ct71db2] for details. |
| | | *DB2 9 DPF incompatibility with SLES 10 and SLES 11 Randomized Virtual Address Space Mapping.* |
| | DB2 9 DPF instances with multiple logical partitions running on a single SLES 10 or SLES 11 server can trap within 30 minutes after _db2start_. If you are using DB2 V9.1 GA or DB2 V9.1 FP1, you must disable the memory mapping feature. Please refer to [technote ref # 1251352|http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=71&context=SSEPGG&dc=DB520&uid=swg21251352&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en&rss=ct71db2] for details. |

| | *DB2 9 and Java Support?* |
| | The minimum Service Release Level for the IBM Java SDK is IBM Java v1.4.2 SR2 |
| | Recommended IBM Java version is 5.0 GA |
