What is new in this release
Version 6.1.1 includes new features such as additional supported hardware virtualization environments and a new internal reporting structure.

- Packaging changes
Support for 64â¬bit mode on z/OS(R) servers If you have z/OS(R) servers that are running in 31â¬bit mode, you can run a script to convert all of your application servers to 64â¬bit mode. See [Dita2Wiki file name not found] for more information.
- New supported hardware virtualization environments
New supported hardware virtualization environments include: Linux(R) Xen on SLES 11 and AIX(R) 5.3 and AIX(R) 6.1 on POWER5(TM) and POWER6(TM) (Micro-Partitioning(TM)) in uncapped mode with shared resource pools. See Supported hardware virtualization environments for more information. The enablement of uncapped mode with shared resource pools also includes new visualization parameters and log entries. - WebSphere(R) VirtualEnterprise bulletin board
WebSphere(R) VirtualEnterprise Version 6.1.1 offers a new bulletin board (BBSON) that is independent of the WebSphere(R) Application ServerNetwork Deployment high availability manager. See BBSON bulletin board for more information.
- New custom properties
You can use the equalCPUFactor custom property to tell to the dynamic workload manager (DWLM) how to equalize the performance of the servers in a dynamic cluster. See Dynamic cluster custom properties for more information. You can use the deactivate.checkRoutingRules and uninstall.checkRoutingRules custom properties if you do not want the uninstallation or deactivation of an application edition to occur when routing policy work classes are still routing workload to the application edition. See Application edition manager custom properties for more information. You can use the son.FailNeighborAfterLostkHeartbeats and son.NeighborHeartbeatPeriod custom properties to manage the intervals at which heartbeats are sent to neighbor processes. You can use the destroyStatisticCacheDelay custom property to specify how long a delay occurs between when WebSphere(R) Virtual Enterprise detects zero active sessions in the administrative console and when the statistic cache is destroyed.
