WebSphere Integration Developer

WebSphere Integration Developer (WID), one of the WebSphere Business Process Management products, is the main IDE for WebSphere Process Server.

Just as programmers use Rational Application Developer to develop applications for WebSphere Application Server, they use Integration Developer to develop applications for Process Server.

• WID 6.0.x and RAD 6.0.x are peer products (see The WebSphere/Rational IDE Stack) built on the same Rational Software Development Platform, which is the Eclipse Platform plus IBM extensions. If you want to develop WAS apps and integrate SCA components, you should buy both RAD and WID.
• WID 6.1.x (announced in October 2007) includes RAD 7.0.x built-in, so you can perform both J2EE and SCA/SDO development in the same IDE without having to separately buy and install WID and RAD.
