WebSphere Business Services Fabric

WebSphere Business Services Fabric, part of IBM SOA, is "a technology platform to support creating and running" best-of-breed service components from a variety of vendors that embody industry best practices and expertise. "It addresses modeling, assembling, deploying and managing these industry and domain-specific components. And it does so in a way that supports a wide variety of industry and semantic standards such as ACORD, HIPAA, and HL7. The fabric is a technology platform that can be used by both IBM and its Business Partners and of course, customers, as a platform for supporting the unique way you do business."

WebSphere Business Services Fabric will support a library of pre-implemented business services that can be bought from IBM and its business partners.

The WebSphere Business Services Fabric product is not yet available but is expected to be available by the end of 4Q2006.

I discuss some of the fundemental value proposition of WBSF in Back to Basics on SOA with Bobby Woolf.
