WebSphere Adapters

WebSphere Adapters are part of the WebSphere Business Process Management suite of products. These products implement the Channel Adapter pattern from Enterprise Integration Patterns. The adapters enable an application that knows nothing about messaging to connect to a messaging system, and vise versa. Different kinds of adapters connect to different application technologies.

There are actually two sets of adapters:

  1. WebSphere Adapters – These are a new set of adapters for WPS
  2. WebSphere Business Integration Adapters – An older but still current set of adapters from [WBI Server Foundation] that also run in WPS
