Entry points into SOA
How do I get started with SOA?
There's no one simple answer for how to get started with SOA, but IBM has some suggestions that are pretty helpful: Five SOA Entry Points
(details). The entry points are closely associated with the IBM SOA Foundation.
Briefly, the entry points are:
- People – Collaboration among people (coordinated by computers)
- Process – Automation of repeatable business processes
- Information – Access points for common data
- Connectivity – Application integration that is standards-based and interoperable
- Reuse – Business-oriented building blocks
