Enterprise JavaBeans

Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) is a spec from Sun that is part of the Java Enterprise Edition spec. It enables programmers to more easily implement Java objects with high quality of service (QoS), such as robustness, reliability, scalability, etc.

EJB 3.0 includes Java Persistence API (JPA) for binding relational data and Java objects. JPA is a replacement for Entity Beans in EJB 2.1, although entity beans are still supported in EJB 3.0 for backward compatibility.
