Tips for using the IBM Tivoli Monitoring and OMEGAMON XE info center
From time to time we will post tips for getting the most out of the information center. You can find the IBM Tivoli Monitoring and OMEGAMON XE info center at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v15r1/index.jsp
.
Tip #1: Saving a copy of a publication in PDF format
Expand the publication by clicking the plus sign to the left of the book title, then right-click PDF and select Save Target As ....
Tip #2: Searching the info center from anywhere on the Internet
You can search any text string in the information center from anywhere on the Internet, using any Internet search engine. This method is particularly useful for finding product messages. For example, if you have just received message KFAAL00E, you can type KFAAL00E into the Google search field. The first hit will be the page on which the message is documented in the information center:
When you click the KFA messages link, the page documenting the message is displayed in the information center:

Tip #3: Searching inside the info center
You can also search inside the info center. This is the best method if you are already in the info center or if you want to limit your search.
Type your search words in the Search field and click the flashlight at the bottom of the info center window:

The page displayed in the right pane identifies the version of the topic (in this example, V6.2.2). If your product level is not the same as the version displayed, look for another search result in the list. For example, if you selected the item immediately above the highlighted one in the left pane, the V6.2.1 topic would be displayed.
If you want the search results to show only the topics that contain the exact phrase in your query, rather than topics that contain any of the words in your query, enclose your search phrase in quotation marks. In the example shown, if you wanted to see only the topics that contain the phrase "high-availability hub" (rather than all topics that contain the word "high-availability" or the word "hub"), you would specify "high-availability hub" (with quotation marks).
For further instructions on limiting your search results, see the topic Searching in the information center
