Tivoli Business Service Manager installation prompts

TBSM enables you to create hierarchical business service models and monitors the Netcool/OMNIbus ObjectServer and other data sources for data that affects the status of your services.

Windows username prompts

If you are installing on a Windows® platform, you are prompted to specify a Windows Username and password for the internal database service that is created. You also specify if you want the installation program to create the Windows user.

  • The Windows Username is required, and the default is pgservice.

  • This Windows user cannot be a user who has Administrator rights.

  • This Windows user cannot be a domain user; must be a local user who has read/write permissions to the local file system where the application is being installed.

  • If an existing account is to be used, the existing account must have Log on Locally and Log on as a service rights.

  • The Windows password is optional. If a password is specified, the value entered in Confirm password must be identical to the Windows password that you entered. The password must conform to password rules set up on the computer for the local user account to be created.

TBSM internal database prompts

Note: For localhost to work correctly in TBSM 4.1.1 on UNIX® hosts, the /etc/hosts file needs to be configured so that when you ping localhost, you get the computer's IP address, not 127.0.0.1.

The Configured Value column is provided so that you can add your configured values.  To create a PDF of this page, click here and follow the instructions.
