Hardware requirements
ObjectGrid does not require a specific level of hardware. The hardware requirements are dependent on the supported hardware for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) installation that is used to run ObjectGrid. If you are using ObjectGrid with WebSphere Application Server or another Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) implementation, the hardware requirements of these platforms should suffice for ObjectGrid.
Operating system requirements
ObjectGrid does not require a specific operating system level. Each J2SE and J2EE implementation include different required operating system levels or fixes for problems that are discovered during the testing of the Java implementation. The levels that are required by these implementations should suffice for ObjectGrid.
WebSphere Application Server requirements
If you are using WebSphere Application Server Version 5.1.x and later, you can use the ObjectGrid runtime. Version 5.1.x can use ObjectGrid as a core (intra-process or local) instance and as a client to ObjectGrid servers.
Version 6.0.2.x and above can use ObjectGrid as a core (intra-process or local) instance, a client to ObjectGrid servers, or as an ObjectGrid server running inside of an application server. If you are using WebSphere Application Server for z/OS, the ObjectGrid server runtime is not supported due to the architecture of the server runtime on that platform.

Other Application Server requirements
Other J2EE implementations can use the ObjectGrid runtime as a local instance or as a client to ObjectGrid servers. The J2EE implementation that is used must use J2SE Version 1.4.2 or later.
