Workshop Overview
Abstract:
This technical workshop provides training on IBM solidDB and solidDB Universal Cache 6.3 in a classroom setting. Detailed presentations and hands-on labs are included. Attendees will gain in-depth knowledge of exciting new features including:
- Ability to accelerate access to data in practically any on disk relational database
- Bi-directional replication between a solidDB Universal Cache and an on disk database
- Easy SQL and stored procedure access to data stored in solidDB Universal Cache
- High Availability options available with solidDB Universal Cache
What you will learn by attending:
- how the in-memory technology provides micro-second response time and up to ten times transaction throughput of traditional on-disk databases
- details of solidDB Universal Cache installation, operation, programming and performance
- details of solidDB Universal Cache High Availability implementation

- Hands-on labs that allow you to gain experience with the solidDB Universal Cache 6.3
Prerequisites:
- Familiarity with relational database technology and either IBM® Informix® Dynamic Server or IBM DB2 Version for Linux®, UNIX®
- Familiarity with client/server technology, JDBC, ODBC, SQL and stored procedures
- Basic knowledge of the Linux operating system is preferred but not required for the hands-on labs
