DB2 only supports the Long Term Release (LTR) versions of Ubuntu. The information contained in this page outlines Ubuntu 8.04 specific information on DB2 9.5.

The validated service update levels for this distribution are listed below. Depending on availability of critical fixes, the minimum and recommended levels may vary.

The base kernel level and the base library levels listed here are the default levels provided by the Linux Environment in question. Kernel and library levels that differ from this due to update packages provided by the Linux distributor are also supported.

DB2 9.5 and Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms (TSA MP) Support
Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms is not supported on Ubuntu. If DB2 is installed on Ubuntu, there will be an error logged in the install log file indicating that the SA MP Base Component could not be installed because system prerequisites were not met. Without SA MP, availability of resources cannot be automatically managed.
