The information contained in this page outlines SUSE Pro 8 specific information on DB2 UDB V8.1.

These Linux Environments are recommended only for application development, evaluation, and light usage. These Environments are NO LONGER recommended for use in intensive DB2 production environments; however, if you are already using these Environments for your environment without problems, then there is no need to immediately upgrade.

PLEASE NOTE: These Environments are no longer supported by their respective vendors; if any issues arise due to the Operating system in use, there may be a requirement to upgrade to a supported Environment in order to obtain support from the respective Linux vendor.

The base kernel level and the base library levels listed here are the default levels provided by the Linux Environment in question. Kernel and library levels that differ from this due to update packages provided by the Linux distributor are also supported.
