In order to upgrade to a fixpack, you must have the base DB2 UDB GA version installed before installing the fixpack. It is sufficient to install the fixpack you require; there is no need to install previous fixpacks to the one you need. i.e. if you need FP4, you do not need to install FP1, FP2, FP3 before installing FP4.
