An Intelligent eForms Solution for Government with DB2 pureXML and Lotus Forms

Overview

Forms are everywhere in government. The problem is that most forms represent paper-based, manual processes that are both inefficient and costly. In addition to the material costs of producing, distributing and storing paper, the completed paper forms need to be interpreted, corrected, then entered into computer systems to initiate business processes. Replacing paper forms with electronic forms (eForms) will eliminate the physical costs of the paper but more importantly will streamline and automate the business process that is represented by the form. And when that process is based on XML supported by Lotus Forms and DB2 pureXML, the complete end-to-end solution can be modeled with the same data structure which eliminates complex data conversion and extrapolation activities. The result is cost savings, efficiency gains, more productive staff and better turnaround for the constituent end users.
