The Rational discussion forums have two interfaces for user interaction, the web interface and the email interface. This page explains how to subscribe and unsubscribe to the email interface.

How to send commands to the mailing list

To get an explanation of how to work with the mailing list, send the following email to cciug-request@lists.ca.ibm.com

From: <your email address>
To: cciug-request@lists.ca.ibm.com
Subject:  help
Body:
help

You will receive an email with an explanation what commands you can send. You can put the command in the subject line or in the body, so I usually do both to be sure. The command "help" is the most obvious one to start with.

How to subscribe to the ClearCase forum emails

Send the following email:

From: <your email address>
To: cciug-request@lists.ca.ibm.com
Subject:  subscribe
Body:
subscribe

You will receive a confirmation email at your email.

How to unsubscribe to the ClearCase forum emails

Send the following email from the email address that you are subscribe with:

From: <any email address>
To: cciug-request@lists.ca.ibm.com
Subject:  unsubscribe
Body:
unsubscribe

You will receive a confirmation email at your email address. After unsubscribing to the email interface, you will still have your profile on the developerWorks website to use the web interface of the forums.

If you want to unsubscribe from another email address than the one use are subscribed with, use the "help" command to find out how to do that.

According to a thread on the discussion forum, it is possible to unsubscribe by sending a blank email to cciug-leave@lists.ca.ibm.com from the email address that you are subscribe with.
