Fred Sobotka

Fred's professional IT career began in 1990, when he debugged and documented Honeywell's Pascal source code for the Airbus A320 jet. He has since worked as a software developer, technical consultant, and DB2 administrator for SMBs, multinational corporations, software development firms, and government agencies. Fred formed FRS Consulting in 2005 to help clients get the most out of DB2 LUW, and he delivers a variety of technical services to help them solve problems, cut costs, and meet their IT goals.
Fred is also an award-winning IDUG speaker and a committed volunteer, serving on IDUG's web team and their North American conference planning committee. In his spare time, Fred maintains a DB2 LUW blog and occasionally writes for the IDUG Solutions Journal and IBM Database Magazine.
