If you install the the ppc64-utils-2.5.3-1 package which comes with SLES9-SP3 you will get the tool bold vscsiadmin (in corporation with a start/stop script called /etc/init.d/ibmvscsis.sh) which makes it very easy to administrate the vSCSI server withing SLES - yes there are quite good man pages for the vscsiadmin as well as for the /etc/ibmvscsis.conf.
Unfortunately these tools are not included in the ppc64-utils package which can be found at the LoP service and productivity tools web page - in fact it seems that the level on this page is an earlier version (for whatever reason)
