Summary

Summary

While installing IBM WebSphere Portal -- Express for the MetroSphere project, we ran into several difficulties that we were able to solve by manually installing pieces that the Setup Manager had trouble with. All in all, the process went as follows:

  • Prepare the server and operating system
  • Run the Quick Install from the Setup Manager
  • Manually deploy Personalization
  • Manually complete setup and deploy portlets

Once all of this was completed, Portal - Express was running fine, and we can now move on to the next step: getting to know Portal - Express.
