Consider this common situation. You want to integrate and automate your business processes, but the relevant data is spread across different applications that were developed or purchased separately for domain-specific problems. These applications define different representations for semantically equivalent objects and assign their own internal identifiers. The plumbing necessary to connect and bridge the data can add substantial overhead and divert your focus away from the core business logic. This tutorial shows how you can regain control by delegating these infrastructure concerns to IBM® WebSphere® Process Server relationships. It walks through the detailed steps of assembling a small integration solution, and provides downloadable sample code that you can use to practice this implementation.

Objectives

  • Create lookup and dynamic relationships.

  • Apply relationships to synchronize data across applications.

  • Manage relationships instance data through the Relationship Manager.

Prerequisites

To benefit most from this tutorial, you should have a basic understanding of IBM WebSphere Process Server relationships as described in Developing integration solutions with WebSphere Process Server relationships.
