Dr. Dieter Buehler, WebSphere Portal Security Architect, joined IBM in 2002 and has worked in the WebSphere Portal development team since the WebSphere Portal 4.1 release. Prior to IBM, Dieter worked three years in research at the University of Tuebingen in Germany exploring concepts and technologies for integrating industrial automation systems into web-based portal solutions. In addition to the WebSphere Portal security architecture, Dieter is especially interested in Java-based client-server system design and information retrieval concepts. |

|  | Thomas Hurek is a software engineer at the German IBM development lab. He is responsible for Security and Virtual Portal development in the WebSphere Portal development team. |

|  | Ingo Schuster joined IBM after finishing his studies of Computer Science at the University of Tuebingen (Germany) with a diploma thesis about J2EE Application Architectures. He has been with the WebSphere Portal development team since its first release, leading the portal security team. He is currently the WebSphere Portal Chief Programmer and is responsible for the development process and overall design consistency.

development team, where he is responsible for the security architecture of
IBM's products for mobile computing. Since joining IBM in 1978, he has
worked in various areas of hardware, software, and firmware development.
His experience includes real-time systems for measurement, software
development tools, C++ class library and Java framework development, smart
card applications, Object Oriented consultant, and architecture of mobile
computing solutions. Frank is co-author of Developing Object-Oriented
