This tutorial series provides a hands-on introduction to WebSphere® Partner Gateway on Linux. Upon completion of this tutorial series, you will understand how to install and configure WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise and WebSphere Partner Gateway Express and exchange EDI, Binary, and XML documents over AS2 and FTP. This tutorial provides detailed explanations of the WebSphere Partner Gateway components as they are used -- Newbies to WebSphere Partner Gateway can use this tutorial as a quick-start guide.
This article, Part 1: An installation guide, covers the steps necessary for installing WebSphere® Partner Gateway 6.0 on Linux Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1. It is assumed that you already have copies of WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise and Express 6.0, WebSphere MQ 5.3, IBM® DB2® Enterprise Edition 8.2.
During the tutorial you will download the latest CSDs for WebSphere MQ and IBM DB2. You'll learn how to configure Linux, install WebSphere MQ, IBM DB2 for use with WebSphere Partner Gateway, and then you'll learn how to install and verify the installation of WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise 6.0.
Part 2: Implementing AS2 scenarios, shows the user how to take the newly installed WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise Environment and implement some AS2 communication scenarios in a sample Trading Community. This section will cover the installation of WebSphere Partner Gateway Express 6.0, and the configuration of both WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise and WebSphere Partner Gateway Express for AS2 communication. Education about the WebSphere Partner Gateway components and terminology is given through out the scenarios. The tutorial includes the use of the File System and of JMS Queues as both the source and destination of documents and is an excellent introduction to the common configuration tasks that a WebSphere Partner Gateway Administrator will have to perform day to day.
Part 3: Implementing FTP scenarios, extends the configuration to be able to receive documents via FTP. Receiving documents into WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise via FTP requires some additional manual configuration and the installation of a third party FTP Server. This final section of the tutorial covers the installation of a free FTP Server and its configuration ready for use with WebSphere Partner Gateway. The tutorial also covers the creation and an explanation of the file system components and the WebSphere Partner Gateway configuration.

You will also require access to a Windows 2000/XP machine to allow use of RFHUTIL to put JMS Messages to the WebSphere MQ queues on Linux.

- WebSphere Partner Gateway Enterprise 6.0
- WebSphere Partner Gateway Express 6.0
