08 Dec 2004 Updated 11 Jul 2005 WebSphere® Everyplace® Connection Manager provides a VPN tunnel you can use to enable existing VPN solutions to seamlessly roam over different physical networks, without having to restart the VPN connection every time physical connectivity is lost or transferred. This white paper explores the interoperability of Connection Manager and other VPN solutions. It discusses the basic concepts of VPNs, IPSec and Connection Manager, describes scenarios in which you can use Connection Manager functions to enhance existing VPN solutions, and provides case studies for architecting, configuring and deploying solutions with specific third party VPNs running over Connection Manager.
