WebSphere® Business Integration Message Broker V5 provides a rich set of tools to build and maintain message flow applications for routing, transforming, and augmenting the contents of messages. Such applications can be built using the graphical Message Flow Editor with IBM supplied message flow nodes. This article describes the concept of message flow schemas and the tools used for creating and building the message flows used in the Web order processing application sample.

This is Part 3A in a six-part series on WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker V5. It describes the concept of message flows, message flow schemas and specifically describes in detail the family of transformation (compute, mapping, and extract) nodes that are used for manipulating, transforming and augmenting the contents of messages.
